Truth = Peace

What is truth? This is a question that has been asked for ages. However, when looked at from the only perspective there ever is, yours, this question is easily answered. Truth is simply whatever works for you at each moment of your life.

Personal truth is always changing

One of the definitions in the dictionary of truth is “An obvious or accepted fact.” But it doesn’t say obvious and accepted by whom? If 5 million people all say the Beatles made great music, it is still only true to those 5 million people. To millions of others all around the world it may not be that obvious or accepted. A couple of examples that carry a little more consequence in life is that of one who believes that it is not dangerous to drive 100 miles per hour on a busy street or swim in a river with a strong undercurrent. This truth will work for them until it doesn’t by virtue of an undesired or painful outcome.

The transformative crossroad

Your world as defined by what you believe to be true is in a constant state of change. Each of the many truths you operate out of will remain true for you until challenged by an experience in your life that causes you mental or physical pain of some degree. This is the moment of choice, the moment of resistance or acceptance. You can ignore the offering of a new truth and be destined to another painful experience, or accept what the universe is offering you thereby expanding your awareness forever and freeing yourself from the undesired and many times repeating circumstances. By accepting the new truth your reality will change because you will no longer need the lesson that brings it.

Summing up the equation

Suffering is the holding on to what is not true in any moment. The truth is always “what is” right now in your life. Peace is the moment by moment acceptance of "what is". In other words, eternal peace is a state of resisting nothing and loving everything.

To begin along this path, come to always fully accept who you are (the truth), decide who you want to be (new truth), act in every moment to create or recreate it (verification), live peacefully.

Much Love,
Howie
